You do get an impression of what it was like at the time Gandhi lived there though obviously things have changed. The museum is good but it is easy to enter it from the wrong side. Not too crowded

Peaceful & pure. A true Indian lifestyle of a common man displayed at the home of The father of our nation. Must visit place to witness the starting days of Modern India.

During my trip to Ahmadabad, my returning flight got delayed, So I decided to visit Sabarmati Ashram as i was only 2 km away from the ashram. You can actually visit the place where Gandhi stayed without any restriction. You can visit Gandhi's room, Kastuba's room, their Guest room & a kitchen. You can also see the things used by Gandhi ji. It was an amazing experience to visit this calm well maintained place.

This simple but well maintained Ashram typifies the inspirational setting which was home to Mahatma Gandhi. Has some short history illustrations which provides good information for both young and old. It was also good to see pre-school children also visiting the site- good educational experience.
