As a first time visitor, I thought that I would be seeing a fort in the tradition of central India or Rajasthan. But, there is only one big wall with two huge gates standing. Most of the fort has been pulled down to make room for courts. The area is a crowded market place with street hawkers occupying every inch of space. The ware sold are usually cheap stuff of poor quality. A visitor would miss nothing by skipping this place.

The place is crowded, surrounded by hawkers and is filthy. We were walking through streets strewn with garbage and plastic litter.
It's so sad to see how little our heritage is respected.
Guided heritage walks take guests here. What heritage are we talking about?
It's pathetic and disappointing.

Just a Gate ..nothing more left of it .So those expecting to see a fort will be highly disappointed by the absence of a fort as is being claimed .
Merely there for listing of historic places in Ahmedabad .There is a temple beside where many pilgrims throng to .

splendid palace and beautiful lush green garden, the charm of Bhadra fort is unbeatable. The fort is well known for the Bhadrakali Temple that was built in the dedication of Hindu Goddess 'Bhadra, a different form of Goddess Kali.
Teen Darwaza of Ahmedabad, India is truly an epitome of the fine Islamic architecture. The windows of this fabulous monument are semi circular and adorned using mesh work. The central window depicts the tree of life. Five palm trees are shown that are covered with snakes. This portrayal also serves as the symbol of the Gujarat Government. This regal citadel is one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Ahmedabad.

Bhadra is a Ford built by Ahmedshah I ,founder of Ahmedabad City, before 700 hundreds Years and Teen Darwaja is a Gate Out of 12 Gates. Distance beween both are about 600-700 metre. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is working with Colobration of Archology Survey of India and with help of Central Govt. to prepare a Grand Plazza. All hawkers have been removed since 3 years and work is in still progress. Thus History of Renovation of Fort turns agter 700 years.

we had visited this place when got information that a famous Goddess temple is here. The Bhadra fort and Teen Darwaja is a heritage. The temple was crowded. The surrounding is full of small and "Thela" shops where lot of bargaining goes on. These shops sell mostly bags, purses, bangles and lady's favorite items. We saw an elephant with mahout looking for some money near these shops. It is mostly a time pass coming here.

Go there only if you wish to do any of the following:

A. Have plenty of time on your hands (traffic is a nightmare & app-cabs will refuse to pick you up from this place)
B. Intend to do shopping at Lal Darwaza area (be mindful of your wallet, phone, belongings etc. as the place abounds with pickpockets)
C. Are longing for non-veg food (Nishat Restaurant is a good choice)

Else, this may be avoided

We happened to visit The Bhadra Fort and Teen Darwaza while on our way to the old shopping area of Ahmedabad. The structure of the Teen Darwaza was quite imposing but the entire structure could not be appreciated from afar due to the innumerable stalls surrounding it. There are a large number of shops around this area selling good quality and inexpensive goods.
