This is a small forest of Deodhar trees set on the banks of the Beas river in the heart of Manali. You can walk down the kuchcha paths made in the forest for peace. The Beas river flows along and gives this place an ethereal feel.

There was nothing to see..time was wasted...just woods and river which can be seen anywhere.. so u can skip it if you are running out of time.

Easily reachable. Has got a good scenic component. One can great view of the river Beas, but unfortunately one can't cross over a wall to reach the river which is a shame. The toilet facilities are not the greatest. Good for having a walk in the woods.

Nice park. There is a paddling boating activity in there which was closed when we went - lack of water. Tall trees, nice place to walk around and can get to the Beas river banks from here.

Van Vihar is one of the good places , to spend quality time with your loved ones. Around the lush green grass where you can go for long walks, click some great pics and enjoy the peacefulness.

Nice place to play and roam but not very great place to see. But close by there is a Buddhist Monastery so you can better time there instead here.

Van vihar is near upper lake of Bhopal. Safari for rs 300 per trip of 6 person is good experience(avoid lunch time 1.30 to 2.30) Alternatively you can use your vehicle or rent a cycle for 10 rs per hour . The entire place is well maintained. Liked it !

We walked back to Manali from Old Manali through this tranquil forest (Park2). Such a quiet, green place yet so close to the busy Mall Road. We saw a flock of blue magpies darting through the trees which was an extra bonus. There is a small entrance fee of 20 rupees.
