One of the biggest monolithic idols of the popular Indian god 'Ganesha'. It is a major attraction for most of the tourists who have a religious stop over in their schedule. It is not very far from the city center.

The word 'Dodda' is a Kannada word, which means 'Big'. As the name suggests, 'Dodda Ganapathy' means big Ganapathy idol /statue. Oldest temple. Those coming to have tour in Lalbagh botanical garden, should try to visit Shree Dodda Ganapathy temple, as it is near to it & both are in basavanagudi & have God's blessings. Tx.

Close to the Bull Temple you can easily see both in a short time unless you are a devotee. Parking isn't great. Cave Temple is just over the hill

The temple premises has two temples - one dedicated to Lord Ganesha and another dedicated to Nandi. The Ganesha temple is near to the entrance. Visited it on Sunday morning. Absolutely no queue. Completed the Darshan in five minutes and headed towards the Nandi temple. The temple had a massive monolithic statue of Nandi. It was great to see the... More

If you've stayed in south Bangalore in and around Basavagudi, there is no way you could have missed this temple. Most of the visitors are regulars and have been visiting this temple for years. I've been going here since 1998 and it's never amused me any less. The devotion runs strong, calmness of the place is amazing and spiritual experience... More

Old and traditional temple with a nicely maintained campus. The natural rock park is good for a evening out and a place to see.
