During Feb'19, myself along with my hubby got to visit Munnar from Alleppey, on the way to Munnar, got to see Cheyyappara and Valara waterfalls, got down to spend some time there and to take pictures.

Cheyyappara and Valara waterfalls are one among the best trekking locations in Idukki district. Many people come across these waterfalls on the way to Munnar and it is slowly turning into a tourist hotbed. There is a dense growth of trees all around and several rare species of plants and animals can be seen in the vicinity.

Valara Waterfalls are known for the lush greenery surrounding it and is a lovely picnic location. Had very nice time at this natural location.

This water fall is better then the other. Both fall in the idukki district and on the way to Munnar.

These aren't easily accessible. But is easily visible from the road.

Must stop by to take a few pictures.

Inspite of being December..there was plenty of water and was quite pretty.

Monsoons would be even better.

This is a huge waterfall on way from Kochi to Munnar which is visible from the roadside- a very far distance. The scenic beauty is good with lush green forests around, a respite from long distance travel to have a cup of coffee over there. Nothing much to see there beyond this.

Valara Waterfalls -Very beautiful down pour clear and chilly water from a peak amidst dense forest. The waters cascade down a hill from a height of about 1000 m. Valara Falls nose-dives into forested ravine below the road. Very impressive sight. Lush, dense forests that are home to a wide variety of small animals and birds.
Valara Waterfalls are Located between Adimaly and Kothamangalam, at a distance of 42 kms from Munnar and 14 km from Adimali of Kochi on Madurai National Highway (NH-49). It is in Idukki district, Kerala.
While moving towards Kochi to Munnar If you know about it you can spent some time here which refresh the mind.

Valara waterfalls is not like other which you can see and enjoy from near. unlike other waterfalls, this water fall is see from very far distance. But from viewing only the falling water, you can imagine how dangerous it is. It is on the way from Cochin to munnar, just some distance ahead of Cheeyappara waterfall (before Adimali).

The Valara waterfalls are visible from the road into the valley enroute Munnar. It is just after the Cheeyappara Waterfalls. Nice place for some pics. Not accessible unlike the Cheeyappara Waterfalls.
