Santa Cruz Basilica Church is a very beautiful church with a big open space around. It's a very peaceful church with beautiful ambiance. You are allowed to click photos & you should visit the church for a peaceful & beautiful surroundings.

Is an ancient church that is very well maintained. Located in Fort Kochi amongst other churches. Has local transport accessibility which is very frequent and good. by means of bus/ferry/taxi/auto. The paintings on the ceiling are very beautiful and noticeable.

We visited 3 churches during a shore excursion off our cruise ship. All 3 were exraordinary in their own way with religious relics in abundance. The church was Build by Portuguese and later elevated to a Cathedral in 1558.Dutch conquerors destroyed many Catholic buildings but spared this. The British demolished the structure and commissioned a new building in 1887. Consecrated in 1905 this was proclaimed a Basilica by the Pope Jhon Paul II in 1984. The monument needs attention of the authorities. The place need to be maintained well, preservation activities need to be taken up on priority
