Vypin is one of a group of islands that form part of the city of Kochi, in the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. The island is about 27 kilometres (17 mi) long and is connected to mainland Kochi by a series of bridges known as the Goshree bridges, which start at Kalamukku in Vypin, touch other two islands then finish... The vypeen island beach is a good place to spend an evening with sunset. the beaches are fine. Lighthouse is a must watch. Lift helps us to reach the top of the lighthouse.

I gather this is regarded as the most densely populated rural area in the world and it seems like it when travelling along the road that runs the length of the island. Once away from the road, either on the backwaters or on the spacious Cherai Beach peace and tranquility reigns. There are no large hotels but there are plenty... More

This island has a nice stretch of backwaters and also the Cherai beach. You can buy fish very cheap from the backwaters.

Vypeen island is quite remote and like a Village. Can be hard to reach as some taxis refuse to go. Overall, a peaceful stay as it is not crowded.
