Oldest temple which is near the Varkala beach - Papanasam. The temple have the main idol Vishnu, also Siva and other gods are one the premises.. the temple is very calm besides the fact that its a major one in the area.

It was a divine experience seeing this 2000 year old temple. looks like it was in the sea a few centuries ago. A beautiful piece of our ancient heritage and a must visit if you are a hindu.

The temple's architecture is very good. It is one of the famous temples in Varkala. Visit this temple in the morning or evening, because in the noon time, its closed.
