This is a wonderful Shrine to the enlightened social reformer Sree Narayana Guru. He worked to break down the caste system and founded schools for the poor. The energy, peace and tranquility are palpable in the temple and the tomb. The grounds are beautiful with the stunning snake tree - with its stunning blossoms - snaking round the trunk.

Sreenarayanaguru who lived for the poor and whose main words, 0ne caste, one religion, one god is now well spread across the globe. It is very difficult to narrat what he has done for the wold. Go to sivagiri and try to understand about it in detail

This is a short tuk tuk ride from Varkala and is well worth visiting. The saint advocated the abolishing of the caste system and there are many interesting signs in the trees advising the followers not to seek money; to work hard etc etc. There is a temple which is very interesting if you go during the prayers - it's... It's a divine place and can be visited alone as well as with family. It's like a temple and one of my favourite places

The place is located away from the city centre, not much to see. Its usually a place where people get married and marriage ceremony is brief, I happened to attend one there which hardly lasted for like 5 minutes. They do serve tasty food and desserts after the marriage.

A friend suggested this place, so we decided to visit. For non-malyalis it is difficult to understand what is happening. The significance of the place is nice and it has a meditative feel to it, and seeing all the devotees is a very humbling experience. If you visit around lunch time (12:30 to 1:30) do have a meal here (Rs.... More

Those who love the calm atmosphere should visit here. Truely this ashram calms our soul and body with the fresh air at the top of a hill. Temple is also there. Gurupooja facility is also available . Truely a nice place. Visit there to know more about Sree Narayana Guru

An interesting place to visit. Again like all other temples and sacred sites it would be much better to have morevsigns in English so you can absorb more of whatbis going on. I was told that signs were posted with spiritual quotes but all in Malalayam. It was a peaceful place and enjoyed the visit.
