The lake is a part of the backwaters and the Kappil beach is just across the road. There are these water sports activity centres there that offer - paddleboarding, kayaking, parasailing, etc. We chose to take a tranquil boat ride. The waters are filled with jellyfish. Be ware!

This lake has few adventurous fun activities like Jet Ski available. Also half an hour boat ride is very cool.

One of the most secluded beach in Varkala. Boating options are available. Carry food and drinks with you while visiting this beach and preferably an own transport would be good.

We went to Kappil Beach and was not amazed by it, but, we had an unexpected pleasant private boat trip on the Kappil Lake. The one hour boat trip costs 1,000 INR per boat (not per person). There were so many colourful jelly fish in the lake. It is a very different experience whether you are on the road looking... More

A must visit place , when in Varkala. The sweeping view of the seas are beautiful. There is a road, with Kapil Lake on one side and the sea on the other. Looks lovely. Take your own transportation. ( Taxi, car, auto, ) You might not find any means of transport to bring you back. You can spend 1-3 hours... More

We took an hours boat ride on its tranquil waters, away from the bustle & din of the more fancied one from Kollam. Only two boats ply currently till 5.30pm everyday. It's not a ride in the backwaters, but on a "largish" lake and so the experience is different.

It is a nice drive-by. We went on a honda activa and rode along the coastal road. Amazing experience.
