The force of water is negligible. Pond is full of water. Main thing which attracted was (said to be) 600 years old Banyan Tree. Atleast 10 persons with both hands spread my cover the circumference of the Trunk.

Poorly maintained and dirty, this water feature could be better presented. It’s a water driven grain mill a few hundred years old that runs on water brought in by aqueducts and pipes. It’s certainly an engineering attraction but poorly maintained and presented. Skip it unless you really have time on your hands

Panchakki meaning Water mill is a small turbine wheel which runs by water jet and thereby rotates a pump for pushing water.
The installation is no more in good shape and just symbolic. The place is not well kept as well. It takes less than 10 min to have a look and leave. There is a ticket to visit the place.

The huge "Mahmud Darvaza" greets visitors on the road entrance to Panchakki."Panchakki" which means water-mill was a hydraulically driven flour mill which ground flour for pilgrims in medieval India. The Panchakki complex had been a place of abode for Sufism and Sufi saints in 12 A.D and was built in 1744 to commemorate Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Shah Musafir. It has its own perennial underground water system that has its source in a elevated hill just near the tributary of the Hasrul river 6 Kms away.Water is transferred through clay pipes to the main water reservoir where it accumulates. From the reservoir the water is lifted through siphoning to the top of a rectangular mason pillar and made to fall with pressure onto a paddle wheel. This paddle wheel drove the grinding machine which ground the flour.Brilliance of Medieval engineering which is in operation to this date. Today the paddle rotates idly akin to a windmill. The Panchakki complex consists of the Dargah of Baba Shah Musafir, a Sufi saint. There is a building which consists of a mosque,a Madrassa, a Kacheri,a ministers house,a Sarai and houses for Zananas. There is a 600 year old Banyan tree inside the complex.

I visited here early morning and honestly did not see anything other than a water tank and a round stone. It is interesting to imagine that it was a functioning mill in the past but other than exploring the imagination I did not see a reason for going here.

Only 20 rp for foreigners to enter this small walled enclosure by one of the medieval city gates. Inside a large rectangular pool with side channels, and a continuous flow of water from a sput about 10 feet up into the pool. Driven apparently by an old hydraulic channel system from hill water (something the new city desperately needs to emulate), it is an interesting diversion.
But surrounded by gift shops and flanked by a river filled with sewage it is an underwhelming place - though the open-sided mosque at the rear of the plot was moderately interesting to see.

If you have time then do visit this place. It is interesting the way the mill was made to run on rain water flowing down. If you have kids they will enjoy feeding the fish in the water body there.
