In the mid town a beautiful architecture marvel exists. It's private and is man tainted by the family. Worth visiting.

We were looking for one of the better known historic Haveli but came across this one, so we went inside and were shown around by a very informative guide who spent a long time describing the structure and function of the building which was really interesting. Being India, there was of course the opportunity to spend your tourist rupees on... More

Its not the most decorated from the havelis but its the best for those who want to learn something about it and about the life in the dessert town. The guide is a great story teller..he tells you not only the stories about the life of the nobility but also a lot about the construction of the building. We really... More

Jaisalmer has a lot of havelis with roughly the same architectural style. Patwaon ki haveli is arguably the best but Salim Singh ki Haveli is definitely most conveniently located, right in the main Gandhi bazaar. 5 mins walk away is the Jaisalmer fort. The gentleman at the entry who collects entrance money is not the most soft spoken but one... More

The guide is a great story teller..it was fun hearing all the stories about the Prime Minister and Royalty. The carvings of whatever is left is beautiful. The room with mirrors is so tiny but must have been really exquisite. Its a bit tough to climb up, its not very well lit and the stairs are build uneven.Would recommend visiting the Haveli... The ornate stonework of the balconies and roof are the standout features of this stunning building which is reputed to be in the shape of a boat although that was not evident to me 😋

This architectural piece is located in the heart of Jaisalmer, close to the Railway Station. This haveli has various tuskers that guard the gateway. This haveli is also called as Jahazmahal,as the front facet resembles a ship stem. Its roof is in the shape of a peacock and its location beside the hills adds to the beauty of the Haveli.

This is nothing against patwaonki haveli. The person inside (guide?) is rude and charged me extra 50 for doing a video even though I had camera ticket. Don't waste your time here.
