Bada bagh lies 7kms from the town of Jaisalmer and far away from the bustle of the town. It is a wonderful place to be, earlier in the day or late evenings (Before sunset) and one could soak in solitude. Although not very well maintained, the chhatris are reminiscence of a bygone era and provides a taste of history to... More

Bada bagh - located outside of Jaisalmer - are one of the most beautiful cenotaphs of the city. The cluster of cenotaphs, with hilly backdrops, and located amidst farms are visible from a distance itself. The architecture is beautiful and calls for clicking some really amazing pics. At the end cenotaph, you can view the sprawling green farms and the... More

Ok watch out for the charges not worth the photos. Watch out for too many young unsavory characters. After dark avoid unless you are a group with 5-6 males able bodies. Too many unsavory looking drinking and smoking youths

This place is home to the cenotaphs erected in the memory of erstwhile rulers of Jaisalmer and their wives. Architecture of the cenotaphs is varied as we start to see the Mughal influence on the relatively newer ones, with domes in place as opposed to the older ones. The dam was however all dried up due to the lack of... More

It is about 6-7 kms from Jaisalmer city. I went on a rented bike. Good roads. One must visit this place. The place has not been taken in good care. The chhatris are getting collapsed. A beautiful work of art. Morning / evening should be preferred time of visit.

A must visit place if you are fond of architecture. Basically the place is not as per the name there are lot of "chatris" which are symbol of royal family's member. After their death one chatri is added here. But the chatris are so beautiful nd technically made to be saved in earthquake.
