Big Garden

Bada Bagh means big garden. Enjoyed going here but some of the buildings were beginning to crumble, which is sad. But still a great place to visit. We combined it with a trip to... read more

I am surprised to see this beautiful and excellent piece of art is left as it is without any proper management or taking care. The design and the architecture is absolutely great.

For all the money they take as entrance fee, there's not a single description or inscription anywhere inside, just a set of broken down chattris. Not worth the trip out

This place holds the cenotaphs of the past emperors with carved umbrellas. The architecture is a nice to see but unless you are a Rajasthani history buff, skip this place.

"Bada Bagh" or "Barabagh" is located about 6km North of Jaisalmer and is one of its most visited tourist attractions. Literally, "Bada Bagh" means "Big Garden", what could be true back in the 18th century, when the first royal cenotaphs were built. But you won't see any garden, flowers or ponds on its main area. As a matter of fact,... More

The place has memorial 'Chatris' for the Rajasthani Kings / noble persons. Structure and constructions is not very elaborate. Place is badly managed and structure is crumbling at a lot of places. They charge 100 rupees as a entry free per person and another 100 to use mobile phone, which I suspect don't even go to the right place.

Bada bagh lies 7kms from the town of Jaisalmer and far away from the bustle of the town. It is a wonderful place to be, earlier in the day or late evenings (Before sunset) and one could soak in solitude. Although not very well maintained, the chhatris are reminiscence of a bygone era and provides a taste of history to... More

Bada bagh - located outside of Jaisalmer - are one of the most beautiful cenotaphs of the city. The cluster of cenotaphs, with hilly backdrops, and located amidst farms are visible from a distance itself. The architecture is beautiful and calls for clicking some really amazing pics. At the end cenotaph, you can view the sprawling green farms and the... More

Ok watch out for the charges not worth the photos. Watch out for too many young unsavory characters. After dark avoid unless you are a group with 5-6 males able bodies. Too many unsavory looking drinking and smoking youths
