After the intensity of our visit to The Fort, this was a good excursion to see some intricately carved marble which stands in cool contrast to the Fort's red sandstone. With the adjacent lake and mounted warrior - the founder of Jodphur - it also makes for a good photographic stop.

This is where Raja Jaswant Singh and his queens are buried and a marble monument has been constructed by his son. Can be covered in 30-45 mins.

A peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the fort and the city. The structures were beautiful from the outside, not so much to see on the inside. If you were short of time in Jodhpur (and plan to see other similar sites in Rajasthan), probably one to miss out. The place could be better maintained in general -... More

The 'Tajmahal of Marwad', Jaswant Thada, was constructed by Sardarsinhji in rememberance of his father Jaswantsinh ji the IInd, in 1906. Over a period of time it became a 'Tajmahal' for Rathore dynasty. Very close to Mehrangarh fort, on the slopes, It is constructed with ‘Makrana’ white Marble and the entire building is surrounded by ‘Chhatris’, gardens, water bodies and... More

The main memorial is made of MArble and is also called the Taj Mahal of Rajasthan. There are portraits of the ruling family beginning from the 1200's to present generation. There is a garden and a fountain in the complex that adds to the overall charm. It's located close to the Fort, so an easy visit for an hour.

This monument is around 1 Km down slope from Mehrangarh Fort , if you are comfortable with sun,can walk down easily. Constructed in the memory of King Jaswant and picture of all the kings are placed in this monument.

The architecture is beautiful and you can get some nice fotos clicked there. Otherwise, there is nothing as such that attracted me about Jaswant Thada. You can complete your visit here within 20mins.

This marble building just shines in the sun and was perhaps the most breathtaking place I visited whilst in India. The gardens are immaculately maintained and the building itself is in perfect condition. It's small, and can be done in less than an hour, but is more than worth the effort.
