1000 Pillar Hall in Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple (Museum)

A great place to see in close proximity and even touch the wonderful stone carvings and pillars . Some sections of this Museum lack proper maintenance.

It is actually the master piece of the previous civil engineering as all pillars are located both in straight and diagonal without any deviation. Really fantastic and marvelous. Nobody can imagine how it was located during past years without any latest technology. Very very high engineering skill.

Must see place. Architectural wonder. At-least visit once in your lifetime. It reminds us of How great builders we were once ! Don't just rush after seeing the goddess, spend some quality time here exploring the Pillars. You will not regret it.

Amazing and interesting thousand pillar mandapam, it has beautiful sculpture carved on each pillar elegantly . We were awestruck and feel that this itself should be added as a special item in the itinerary.

We visited Meenakshi Temple and passed through these long rows of stone pillars, which are hollow and make sound when you knock on these! It is amazing to see such fantastic historical architecture...
