Emerald Lake is on the way between Ooty and Avalanche. This place is free from crowd and you can really enjoy the beautiful nature. This place was very cloudy. Weather was excellent. There were very many trees. Views of the mountain from this place was really mind blowing. I will definitely visit this place every time I go to Ooty.... More

So far this is the best lake in Ooty. It's best for couples. You can enjoy as much as you want. It's not overcrowded. And um the lake is very huge.

Water is low at the time we have visited. Crowd in very low; Many time you will found yourself alone with no one around.

Not much water these days due to draught in Tamil Nadu. But you can drive few kilometers north of the lake till the powerhouse to get better views of lake and vistas around

The lake and the surrounding looks very good, had there been water, it would be real good. Though it would be good to see just after monsoon.

While going from Ooty to Coimbatore, please take route via Emerald, Avalanche, Pilloor dam. It's a beautiful journey with minimum traffic. Many times you will be alone with no one around, except some wild animals. You may sight elephants also. There are some places which allow fishing in Emerald/Avalanche lake. I am yet to try those places. This will make... More

Excellent views, many view points all over the roads around, just choose your spot as you go. Don't worry too much about Google Map showing this or that, just download the offline area in advance and don't blindly follow the Navigation Instructions rather choose from the position you are in. Pure Nature, no cranky noisy crowd. PLASTIC LOVERS - KEEP... More
