This is a must do when you are visiting Ooty. i booked the ticket from coonoor to mettupalayam and it was spectacular with beautiful landscapes all along. It deserves UNESCO Heritage tag.

One of the few surviving toy trains in India. It was pleasant trip to Mettupalayam lasting nearly four hours. Unlike the regular trains one cannot move around. Two engines have been installed for public view at Coimbatore and Ooty Railway stations.

Kids love this ride, always crowded & full.....make sure you book tickets from IRCTC to avoid long que... I felt that Train can go little slow...thats what heard...but it was fast and reached before the timings....

i think it will be a problem as there is leg space only for people to sit and carry small baggages. it is same in forst class too. you have to go by cab.

IRCTC website is the best way to book, especially if you are looking for 1st class ticket (very few seats). Some 1st class seats are reserved for online only and some for counter only - depends on which train you are... More

try online. there are two classes, first class and second class. it will be Rs. 128 and Rs.30 respectively. first class will be the first coach and you will get better view.
