Remember the black and white film era...Here it was...All the action and more.. Must have been a thriving place before the assault of digital camera and smartphones...looks like a 70s place where time stands still...visited the place twice - once on way to Pykara Lake and on another on way to Tiger Reserve at Mudumalai...Not much to see except the... We were disappointed to see the closed gates of this film factory. We enquired and found that this factory has been closed due to environmental reasons, issues and will not reopen. Please do not plan any visit if you are interested to go thru' this factory.

A public limited company which did very well for a few decades, but has now been declared sick and is almost shut. The Indu Nagar surrounding the factory gives an idea of how life flourished in the past. The current situation is pathetic. Nice location and perhaps one of the realities of Ooty and its people. The factory from the... More

While most of the tourist attractions in Ooty are directed towards its scenic panorama, many are unaware that Ooty is a multi-purpose tourist destination in India and hence has a lot more of interesting sites to see with the Hindustan Photo Films being one of those places to visit in Ooty

Nothing to see, but just to see the factory from outside, which produced the iconic INDU photo films of yesteryear. The entire place looks still active, but not sure what is happening around the place. Also was able to see INDU Nagar, may be the place where people who worked in HPF lived and also live till now.

This is a office or factory, not allowed inside, nothing to see from out side, if you are travelling towards mysur you can stop for a minute, otherwise you can skip this place
