Ghats are the places on the riversideside where people meet and socialize. This one is amazing in the evening with a evening festival, music, dances and fire.

The ghat is famous for the daily program Subah-e-banaras held before sinrise and the morning ganga aarti. Aarti is also held in the evening at Assi ghat. Less crowded ghat

Assi ghats are the beginning of the ghats and where we stayed. Lots to do and boats and restaurants available etc. Easy to get in and out of with taxi. Other parts of Varanasi require walking the narrow streets to your accommodation. Recommended.

The aarti is performed here early morning 5 -530 a.m. under the Subah e Banars cultural and spiritual event. In winter timing may have changed. Please ask your Hotel or Guest House once you arrive in Banaras.
