The ghats in Varanasi are beautiful, you can sit and watch the daily hustle and bustle. The water is not clean, hopefully it will be at some point in the future. If you can take a boat ride

Dasaswamedh Ghat is also known as the Main Ghat. It is picturesque and offers an amazing experience of the spiritual side of India, but that is why you came to Varanasi in the first place. It is a must see for any visitor to Varanasi.

There are lots of boatmen here. The ganga Arti from the boat was ok.. nothing overwhelming if you are not too religious or spiritual.
