Definitely nothing like reviews from a few years ago. We saw a Youtube video that showed multiple levels of clothing, trade goods, artisan wares, etc. and described it as a great wholesale marketplace to find everything. Reviews here seemed to back that up. I can only guess Covid changed it because it is NOTHING like that any more. We arrived to find three levels that were primarily food and produce stalls (including a lot of strong smells and flies), and the top floor about half full of clothing and some household goods. Absolutely nothing special, and nothing that isn't available in every single corner of Bali. Prices were actually inflated, and we were followed from the moment we walked be various people who wanted to 'help' us shop. We took a half hour taxi up from Nusa Dua and spent less than 10 minutes here. I'd say only worth a stop if you are in the area shopping textiles, but honestly, it's not even worth it then. Skip it and save the hassle of being bothered by pushy people as there are no deals here.

Kumbasari Market is evidently the major WHOLESALE market in Bali. I saw more different stuff, at much better prices, than I did in a whole month in Bali.
Yes, you can buy anything here. But, you can also get prepackaged gifts in multipacks (great for packing). The prices are about 1/2 of the LOWEST prices you get from hard bargaining. However, be prepared some shops, they'll tell you, ARE fixed price. One wholesale shop had sales help that carried a basket for you because it was one of those shops with fixed prices, and you'll be hard pressed not to say, "10 of these, 6 of those, etc"
I'd start on the TOP floor and work my way downward. If you don't already have a LARGE shopping bag, with a comfortable handle, you can get one here. Many stores also take credit cards, but there will be that 3% charge. There are some unique items that I did not see anywhere else in Bali, even after a month of browsing. This is also the place to go if you've seen something you like, but want a dozen, or want something bigger, or longer, or in a different finish, etc. I even found LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS!
This market has all the colorful food and supplies on the bottom. The more serious wholesalers seem to be on the upper floors. Most shops have a theme like teak/wood, capiz shells/tabletop, or interior decoration. Try and get here early since many shops start closing mid afternoon, and it's almost completely closed by 5PM.
There are decent toilets here, but bring your own TP. While you're down here you can also do Jl. Sulawesi with all the fabric shops. The Bali Museum is about 3 blocks away down Jl Gajan Mada. There's also a top of the line batik (think Jim Thompson Thai Silk in Bangkok) store on the same side of Jl Gajan Mada going toward Jl Thamrin. You'll know it when you see it.

Here is a tip....if anyone follows you, wave them goodbye firmly and refuse to browse stores until they leave. It is ridiculous that as soon as we arrived a man followed us and would not leave until we said we would sit down for 30 minutes. At least he was polite. There was a rude woman who then joined him following us from shop to shop. Then when the man left a third rude woman came on the scene. We figured them out. They pretend they brought you to each shop in order to get a cut of what you paid which drives the prices up for you. Stick to your guns and bargain hard. I do not mind helping financially when people have little money but do not like being taken advantage of.
The place is dirty and smells but it is a market in a developing country at the end of the day so that didn't offend me. It's the aggressive women that put me off. Head to ubud market instead or even the markets in Seminyak.

We enjoyed it so much we ended up hiring a driver and going there twice during our nine day holiday in Bali .i also look forward to visiting it again should we venture to Bali a second time! Everything and anything can be purchased there - all wholesale to the local people and hence the environment is conducive to wearing older comfortable light clothing as it is extremely hot inside the multi stores building but totally worth it in the long run. Food , smart shirts , t shirts , spoons, dishes, magnets, paintings, and endless other goodies to vast to mention are available but you MUST BARTER and ask for Bali price. Enjoy!

Went there to buy some paintings. In the 2nd floor they have a big shop (more like warehouse) with 1000 of paintings. Prices are 2-3 times cheaper than in Ubud. You can bargain. Bought 2 paintings for a good price.
Otherwise the market is overloaded with all other souvenirs. It felt more like a huge warehouse where you are walking in a labyrinth between all shops. Prices are much cheaper than everywhere else.

Much cheaper finds here then anywhere in Bali. Homewares, clothes, fabric, art....whatever, you'll find it but make sure you check out every level. Worth the trip and take your camera.

I bought some souvenirs at the market, which offered a lower price than on the streets. Relatively quiet when I visited in the afternoon, did not see much tourist around the area too.

Good for souvenirs. For the best price look for the large wholesale store in the third level, find items here a quarter of the price of every where else and they actuality provide you with a receipt.

Our best market to go and find everything we need such as vagetables , fruits , traditional food . We usually visit the market before dark and enjoying local food such as Nasi sele ( white rice cooked with sweet potatoes serve with sambal , fish / pindang souce tomat , etc ) , Daluman drink , es cendol drink and many more . There's no proper chairs to seat but seat whereever its comfortable , its such a great moment . After that we continue looking anything we need , we usually hire someone who offer theirself to help us to bring our stuffs . Payment is as we like , they naver ask the price but we love to pay a litle bit more extra .
Highly recommended market to visit to see our local life in the center of Bali .

Always interesting but now much quieter. Fewer floor levels and no one harassing you help you. In other words touts. The spice section is very interesting and smells wonderful if you can find sizes to fit can be good value. Bargain hard. Worth a visit.
