Chinese temple that sprouted up following Chinese (and Muslim) eunuch Zheng He's touchdown in Semarang. We walked through the temple complex while the azan was sounding the nearby Mosques which was a nice multi-religious experience. The temple consists of several buildings venerating different artefacts. There's a massive statue of Zheng He in The Central courtyard. Also an interesting tree with... More

Dedicated to the famous Chinese general, this temple is huge and pretty. Each corner is decorated with all the Chinese theme, there's even the huge general's statue in the corner. There's a mini theatre inside where we can watch a video about Cheng Ho with extra small money. We can use it to learn a bit more about the history... More

This is the biggest Chinese temple in Semarang. It is beautiful but not very special. You have to pay entrance of cours, but that is for one tempel. For the other 2 you have to pay entrance again.

Typical Indonesian double standards. It's not about the cost but why should a foreigner pay double the entrance fee as a local person. Rp. 5000 and foreigner Rp.10.000 In real money not much but still. Apart from that I found it a very poor experience, it's build on a large plot of land but nothing really interesting to see. I... If you know the story of Laksamana Cheng Ho, you may visit this site to see the real legacy. Affordable entrance ticket and they have local tour guide with extra charge (IDR 35,000) also to tell the story.

We told him we have put our donation in the box then he said he wanted money for himself. Okayyy.. we gave him 20k. We went to pray 3 or 4x at different section/gods... More

After seeing a picture of friend who dressed in Chinese opera, I and several friends eagerly trying it and we made it in early October. We must consult our preference costume by seizing our body and prefered color. The organizers helped us dress and the photographer directed us to pose inside the temple complex. What an experience and we could... More
