A traditional market, where you can buy batik in a cheap price. But, the number one rule here is, bargain. You must bargain as much as you can, or you will regret it. I manage to pay Rp 15.000 for one shirt, while the seller offer Rp 75.000 for the first time.

Well, it was use to be the busiest place for clothing in Solo. The centre of the economy of Solo. And now.... it's gone, all was burned out. It was happened on the 27th December 2014. Nowadays, they try to begin a new market on the grass field nearby. We never know if it will be built again

If you are looking to see where the local wholesalers buy the batik ready-mades and other clothing that they will be selling on the stalls, and maybe do a little bargaining yourself-- this is a fun place to spend an hour or two.
You are NOT going to fine fancy labels, but the two story building is packed with shoppers, vendors and action on a daily basis and just people watching or a little casual shopping is something I have always enjoyed

Pasar Klewer must be on your things to do list while in Solo. The market is packed with beautiful, colorful batik and ready made clothing. You can find some great bargains so don’t haggle too much. It’s still a good deal.

It is a place selling souvenier, batik product etc.
Bargain as much u can.
It is a crowded / busy place. Becak can be easily found.
Not to mentioned it was quite dirty with trash dumped everywhere.

One of my mom's fave place. Hot, crowded, but batik in here comes in very affordable price with stylish design. The price even could make you drop your jaw.. The toilet is also surprisingly clean n smells good. But my local friend told me to be careful with pickpocketers

Lots of small stalls/shops some antiques some new or fake. Hard to tell but have a close look and say that's not old and that seemed to work. Lots of great items

Batics at very cheap prices! We went to a few malls first, then a couple of other markets and then this place. Bought 5 items at a minimum of 30% lesser price than other places. GO!

if you want to buy batik this is the place, you should show your skill bargaining the item, very friendly people, and you can find street food nearby.

Could I ask if I was looking for material / cloth in Solo Indonesia is Klewer Market the only place to find a concentration of sellers in the one location?

No. Klewer market is not the only one. but it is one of the oldest market and good bargain.
