It was a wonderful time for us to enjoy hot and cold spring of Malanage. Located in the jungle around 50 minutes from Bajawa town. There was very quite time so I and two Dutch girls spend the time to swim and lay down in hot and cold water. It was amazing. Sometime feels to hot, cold, warm and very cold. it caused of the both spring come and mixing in one small pool.
According to locals the water from this spring is consist of sulfur so it good for skin. Some people had problem of skin and recovered by taking a bath in this hot spring

A warm water river named Malanage, located in Dariwali Village, Jerebu'u District, Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Malanage is unique. The water is really warm naturally. Even smoky. The smoke can be seen in plain view.

This is one of the more relaxing things I have done in Indo. Sooooo nice to get really hot on one side and then cool off on the other. Was the only one there during my time. Doesn't seem like it would get too busy. Could stay there for hours. Finish off with a coffee or food with the locals and learn a bit of local language.
Would definitely go again.

The springs are very unique. Unlike most hotsprings, there is no ‘pool’ or anything where you are supposed to swim in. It is just a natural river. And the most fun part is that there are 2 streams coming together: very hot and mighty cold :).
Depending on where you get in, the temparature varies. Also, you can feel a very hot stream and then suddenly it gets very cold! A unique experience.
This was the end of our magnnificent tour day with Edwyn Bajawa (tel: 082 340 802 479, or look him up on facebook). He brought us to villages, the market, waterfalls and said that the best thing was to relax at this spot at the end of the day after getting all the great information and seeing all kinds of wonderful things. If you read this, thank you, Edwyn!

This place was amazing! It's about 40 minutes by motor bike from Bajawa. When you arrive there, you are asked to write your name in a guest book and give a donation (you determin how much you want to donate). There is a changing room. Now the great part: there are two "rivers" that mix (hot and cold water) into one "river", so the water has a great temperature! The scenery is beautiful! There are stones in the water where the water has a stronger current than in the pools underneath them, so you can lie in the warm water and enjoy your time in nature. There is nothing artificial, so it really feels like you are in a spa in the nature. The current on the rocks gives you something like a massage treatment which feels really nice! In the afternoon, local people came to the hot springs to take a bath and wash themselfs. Otherwise there were no other people visiting that place. I highly recommend going there, it's worth it!! Just a side note: the rocks are somehow "dirty", our bikinis had a greenish and brownish colour when we left and that didn't change after we washed it, so you may better wear an old or dark bikini :-)

Loved this spot close by the villages of Luba & Bena. Unspoilt series of falls and pools under the jungle canopy. One boiling river joins with a second cold one allowing you to adjust the temperature of your dip. The local family will cook you up a nice Mie Goreng and sell you a cold Bintang while you relax but ask for a Mie Goreng Ayam and don't be surprised when one of their scrawny chickens is grabbed by the neck and dispatched in front of you;)

3 of us rode to the springs on our scooters. The place was not to difficult to find.
The hot spring is just amazing, it is a beautiful place, there is a natural pool where the volcanic water comes up from the ground and then flows down a small water fall and mixes with cooler water flowing down from the mountain. You can sit in the pool or in the waterfall the water is about 39c and a fair bit cooler when it mixes at the bottom of the water fall. Well worth a visit.

My husband has some scratches on his leg from a motorbike accident. Will he be allowed in? If yes, is the water clean, or will it aggravate his sores?
Written January 30, 2019
its up to you, they certainly wont stop you from going in with scratches on the leg. its running water, so I would assume its clean enough. you might want to put some alcohol swabs on it after the dip. if your really worried about catching something with open skin, then don't go in.
