Power only from 6pm to 6am, no transport other than Gojeck and really hard to find places to eat. It is expensive to get to the island by boat which is about AUD$160 each way. There is one waterfall worth visiting and a couple of snorkeling/dive spots but really not worth all the trouble.

We are here on the island of Moyo. To get here, you have to pass by Lombok. Arrived in Sumbawa at the airport, you have to travel by boat to reach the island. We took the public boat, but the noise is deafening. And despite the low cost, I wouldn't do it again. The private boat costs around 100 euros. We are at the Blueemocean resort. The place is very beautiful and the position to the west, gives every evening magnificent sunsets. Here there is the sea, a beautiful coral reef directly from the beach and a long deserted beach where you can walk. If I think of crowded beaches, here is an unknown concept. The managers are Italian Renato and Indonesiana Liza. They are beautiful people, so available and attentive, with whom it is also nice to chat. The resort has a diving center. Good food. The excursions that can be done from here are the large and small waterfalls, the island of Satonda and snorkeling from the boat. Until mass tourism arrives here, it is worth not to waste a few days enjoying nature, silence, the sea, sunsets and a magnificent view of the sky with the Milky Way at night.

This island has all what a Traveller needs.
Blue ocean, unspoiled coral reef, virgin jungle and breathing waterfalls.
Been there a few times already and can't wait to return.
Only few tourists go to Moyo island since it's challenging to find information about the island and how to get there.
There only a 3 places to stay on Moyo:
Amanwana, Blue emOcean resort and Sunset Moyo bungalows.
Amanwana is the oldest one on Moyo, very luxurious.
Blue emOcean resort is brand new, western standards and great food
Sunset Moyo bungalows is an homestay in the main village.
Waterfalls were the highlight of our holiday.
See you soon Moyo!!

I visited Moyo with a group of bikers who were taking part in the first Horizons Unlimited motorcycle meeting in Indonesia. We visited two waterfalls to swim. The route to the falls, and the area around them, was spotlessly clean. This was really refreshing to see and is because the village chief takes his reponsibilites seriously. The water was delightful and the jungle mysterious. Great island

A island must visit if already in Sumbawa. Can take a boat from the main land to go to Moyo Island. There are only few luxury cottages in this islands. This islands and stayed by Lady D, Mick Jagger, Beckham and many celebrities over the world. A island where you can really relax and ease your mind. Sorround by seas and you can see the coral and many types of fish in the seas as the water is very clear. The food served in the rwsurant also good. The staff are very friendly and Co operative. You can also do Islands hoping from MOYO Island.

Arranged to go snorkelling on Moyo Island from our hotel in Sumbawa Besar. It was an hour and a half boat ride to a small beach on Moyo, with a couple of places to sit in the shade and a little warung where we had lunch (arranged by the hotel as well).
The snorkelling on the side where the water was a bit choppy was really good. Lots of corals, but also some patches where the coral is dead due to strong currents (fins are a must). Decent amount of fish and a couple of moray eels.
The other side, which was more sheltered from the wind, was infested with Crown-of-Thorns. So sad, because they have ruined parts of the reef there already and it’s a matter of time before the whole reef is gone. I can only hope that the NP authorities take appropiate (and quick) action.

Amanwana in Moyo island provided 20 tents only and gives top services for the quests
All meals are provided with good quality and good taste...good chefs
Sea is very calm during our stay so ideal for sunset cruise or snorkeling around the beach or in Turtle Street, their snorkeling area
If you like to walk, trekking to Bat Cave is good and excursion to Matajitu waterfall with the jeep is interesting

Moyo Island can be accessed by Speed Boat and the trip takes about 45 min. From Labuan Aji Village, you need to ride an ojek (motorbike) for 30 minute to get to Mata Jitu waterfall. The motorbike ride will cost about Rp75,000 both ways. Please prepare yourself with the bad road condition. It's worth the hassle thou to enjoy the beauty of the waterfall & forest. What a big shame is about the garbage. Indonesia is gifted with so many beautiful places, but treat with lack of of respect by its own people. It's pathetic and as an Indonesia I'm embarrassed even I'm not like others. Another place that worth to visit is Diwu Mbai Waterfall. It takes 15 minutes by motorbike rides to get there.
