Immanuel Church and it's surrounding area are not well known by many. This was actually a short-lived American community in the mid-late 19th century. A small group of Protestants from the USA purchased land, literally brought their houses to this area, and set up a community known as the American Colony Unfortunately, they were not well equipped for the terrain... Although the Immanuel church is rather small, it has all the elements of a classic Lutheran Church so it is a good place to appreciate the Lutheran Church eastetics

A nice, quiet church, in the midst of the historical German and American Colony of Jaffa. Also suitable for those interested in the modern history of Jaffa.

Didn't look closely at the photos, then I could have seen it was closed today. Only open 10am-2pm Tuesday to Friday. Looks well maintained from the outside.

It's a bit out of place to see a church in Tel Aviv but the soaring spire of this one is unmistakable. It is an older church about 100 years old and still attracts a congregation. Also features concerts for those who are less interested in the religious aspects.

We visited this church for a Lutheran service in English. A lovely service followed a brief greeting from a warmly welcoming Finnish pastor. The organist was outstanding and the service was truly meaningful. If you are seeking an interlude for peace and reflection, Immanuel Church will provide both.

We attended the Saturday service at 11am this morning, it is a split English / Hebrew service. Although we don't speak any Hebrew, they project all the songs and readings in the same Alphabet style as English (with English translation below) so we could follow along. Some of the songs were also in English, as well as the Sermon. The... More
