Super-dissappointing, a bunch of free-range turtles in a small - accessible - part of the island. The month-old babis are kept in small-ish enclosures for years (!) and then you see on other parts of Praslin and La Digue big turtles in tiny enclosures so not sure what all the talk about "protecting" the turtles is about. And the excursion... More

Was much better than I expected. They are raising tortoises and rehabbing the vegetation on the island. The routine is that you get dropped off at the tortoise side and feed them and take some photos. Then you follow the trail around through the vegetation to the side that faces Praslin to hang out on the beach and have a... More

It was a very exotic island and the trip wasn't even as existing as I thought! We got to feed the turtles, see the crabs and the nature. It was pretty cool!

We stopped at Curieuse as part of our hiring Cat yacht for the day, and I explained the history of the island to family and the Dr quarters etc, we also snorkeled there and had some incredible large fish sightings. Well worth stop and the cultural aspect, and don't forget to feed tortoise with bananas, watch your fingers, and some... More

It's a beautiful island. Upon arrival, you can visit the tortoise park, which is ok (nice for children to touch the tortoises). However, the real beauty of the island is discovered during the walk. If you are into long walks, try the longer route. The scenery is amazing and you can discover interesting sights and rare wildlife. I'd highly recommend... More

We had a wonderful day here, coming over from Praslin. Wonderful to see lovely nature close up. The tortoises were very placid and we had a great time.

The trip to Curieuse was the best day on the entire stay at Praslin. We went to the island with Sagittarius taxi boat from Côte d’Or, a 15 minute ride. When we landed on Curieuse the boat driver pointed us to the house where we paid the tax/entrance to the island, 200 rupees per adult, children free. The staff showed... More

We went with our kids on a daytrip to this little island. The kids were thrilled about the big turtles that they were allowed to pet. There was also cute baby turtles. We went along a trail through dry mangrove swamp with big crabs to a very nice beach very we had a barbecue arranged. A really nice day!

The Wild tortoise centre is very interesting where they look after newly born tortoises until they are 5 or older, there is also a research unit studying the the breeding of lemon sharks
