Our museum visit on a rainy July day was fun. A lot of history in the surrounding areas, so much that it made my head spin! We also went upstairs and rode the antique horse carousel. You can definitely spend some time going through everything....More

Pleasantly surprised by the museum. Exhibits on everything from Native Americans, a Mastadon, Sesame Street, 9/11 and everything in between. So much to see and would have stayed longer except it was freezing inside. Not normal but it was today. Even better it was free,...More

Incredible display of 911 artifacts. Makes you feel as though you were there. You appreciate what the city endured and how everyone united as one.

This is an excellent museum with free parking on Sundays. at least. The most impressive part was the 9/11 display which contained artifacts from that day including actual parts of the airplanes and a melted girder from the building. Very moving.

A lot of stuff to see, good place to bring children and you learn a lot. There's multiple levels to search from different eras. I often stroll through the exhibits during lunch it's so close to me.

A great place to visit, especially on a less than desirable weather day. The various exhibits are always entertaining and informative.

Going on the 1912 carousel makes a stop here worthwhile for young and old, but there is soooo much more to see. Easily spend the day. Exhibits range widely and include every topic imaginable. Free or donation.

This is a great museum about the State of New York. They tell stories from many different time periods through their various exhibits. There is also a space for rotating exhibits.

pnaw10's answer is an excellent rundown on this. If you zoom in very tightly on the map, you'll see the parking indicated on the map to the west of the museum. If the lot is full, exit the lot by the back (Myrtle Avenue... More
