The metro is a cheap and easy way to travel around Busan.

The stations are huge and often include shopping centres and other impressive installations.

The carriages are clean and well sized and travellers generally very polite.

Gets you everywhere and together with the buses, a seamless travel experience! Prices are fair for a system as well integrated and comprehensive as this is.

The main stations all have multiple exits, making it super easy to get to your destination in relative comfort (you walk through (invariably) an underground covered station mall until you get to the exit you need.

There are also generally lifts to street level though these are fewer hence your exit may not be the most convenient. Otherwise it’s stairs.

Not so easy to use without a local map app, so use either Naver or Kakao. Found Naver seems to have better English searchability.

We enjoyed using Busan's metro system and aside from a couple of connections it has been easy to navigate. This is an inexpensive way to get to the majority of Busan's sights and for the ones it doesn't go directly to it has good connections to the busses. Busses and trains work on the same card and service was very frequent during our time in Busan so we didn't have to wait long.

We can't help but make comparisons to Seoul's system but we found there was always space to stand comfortably on Busan's system and there weren't any crazy long waits for bus connections. The demographic is older in Busan so there are larger sections reserved for the elderly on Busan's trains and it seems to be common courtesy to not stand on the platform that leads to those sections or in the middle of them on the train.

One major plus is that the metro card we bought in Seoul works on Busan's system including for its busses. We bought a Local Mobility Kakao card in Seoul and you can top it up in Busan as well at convenience stores or at the metro stations. One of our friends shared with us that the metro card we picked up in Seoul can work on most public transport in Korea and it can even act as a debit/credit card.

It is about 1400 Won for each metro ride and 400 won for each bus ride from what we saw so we are happy to save a bit of money on transportation while in Korea!

It is clean, it is regular and it is very cheap by world standards. It was easy to navigate as each line has a different colour and each station has a number, with English being the second language in signage and messages. It’s just a pest not being able to get a day or tourist pass at each station

Clean, easy and safe. There are senior citizens that guide your way through the transit system. There's 4 lines so it's hard to get lost, and everything is in English.

Not well signed, takes awhile to get used to in comparison to Seoul. Very clean overall. Because it's smaller population, less frequent in the time schedule.

The Busan Metro is easy to navigate with only a few lines
The station announcements are bilingual with clear English announcements
The stations are numbered with the first digit being the line number
I did not see or find a list of stations with their numbers which would have helped greatly
The stations are clean and easy to navigate

We found Busan metro very clean, easy to use, fast and cost friendly.
Best way to use it is having your T-Money card which you can buy at any convenience store. Riding with it is around 10% cheaper than paying separately. You can easily add value to your card or take back the remaining balance. Card is valid in both, Seoul and Busan.

What a great way to get around Busan. We bought a T card from a 7-11, topped it up at the station and voila. A very easy and accessible metro

I took a metro at 6am on 27 Nov 2022 from Nampo station to international airport; but my cash was only enough to take a metro from Nampo to Sasang; It's very early morning, not passenger around i could ask for help; my atm card also could not withdraw money in the nampo station.

The operation manager of Nampo station was walking to me , actually he just wanted to say hi to me and gave me a guideline to take the metro; he never knew I really needed help. after he knew what happened to me , he gave me 5000 korean won for free to buy a ticket from sasang to international airport.

It's so touched; because the train was coming, i have no time to take a picture with him and asked for his name. what i knew that he was the operation manager in Nampo station. I am really appreciated to him, he is a decent and dashing gentleman.
