This is beautiful waterfall in the Seogwipo. It is about 20m tall and water flows into a small pond surrounded by a forested habitat. After buying the tickets (2000 KRW) to the waterfall, we walked through a short flat trail along a stream towards the waterfall. Ducks and other birds swim in the stream and coupled with the forested surroundings and distant sounds of the waterfall provides a peaceful and calming feel. On the map, it looks like the waterfall is in the middle of Chilsipnisi Park along Taepyeong-ro (fronting Casaloma Hotel) but there is no through road to the waterfall within this park as the park is on a different elevation. To reach the waterfall, visitors have to enter via Namseongjung-ro near the waterfront.

A six minute drive from Jeongbang Falls is Cheonjiyeon Falls. At the former site, famed Jeju archers and cavalrymen practised on either side of the falls (see 1702 painting of hyangsarye at Cheonjiyeon). With a doll on a pulley that stretched across the falls, Jeju passed it and arrows back and forth to townspeople on opposite sides for target practice. Koreans were known to Japanese since King Yeongjo (1748) and to Chinese since 5000 BCE as ‘master archers’ (pyeonjeon)—especially archery finesse while riding on horseback. Vintage photos also showed Korean women archers. Jeongbang Waterfall is not accessible, unlike freshwater Cheonjiyeon, where elderly people like to visit and couples rent and wear hanboks ($25) for taking photos. The 7-Eleven beside the Tourist Info Center here sells selfie sticks. You’ll see ducks and coy fish in the pools and a cave beside the falls, where a mythological dragon lived. It is a site where Jeju people prayed and made music with a water jug at annual ceremonies. Arrive earlier than tour buses at 4 pm, and the path remains lit until 9 pm.

Yeah, very nice for a waterfall that's in s decent-sized city. It's not Niagara by any means, but the walk through the gardens leading up to it are pleasant and it's very photogenic. Getting there early - pre 10am - is the best bet as the light is good for photos and the crowds are not as hectic.

Our family visited "Cheonjiyeon Falls" on June 8th, 2019. To get to the waterfall, you have to walk a lot. There were a lot of small markets that sold simple snacks, which was sweet, but the way to the waterfall was not worth it. Although the way to the waterfall was harsh, still the waterfall was beautiful. I recommend this waterfall to whom that likes walking. If your stamina is poor, you will be tired . I don't think the waterfall was worth walking a lot.

It's ok as a waterfall but nothing special. A pleasant and easy walk to it. You can also get a view of the falls from the park above.

We have been to many waterfalls & certainly this one is at the lower end of the range.

Nothing spectacular, rather small & very normal. Skip this place if you have limited time - there are better places to go.

The park is built for the waterfall. Was there during dusk, though there are sufficient lighting around. The waterfall is a tad disappointing, especially when you came from Jeongbang Waterfall. However it is suitable for people of all ages, the walk to the waterfall is very easy.

This is my favorite as the waterfalls and the blue water coupled with mandarin ducks swimming and moving around, I really feel like I'm in a fantasy land or living in the fairy tales movie that we used to see. Highly recommended for photography and relaxation!

After seeing Jeongbang waterfall, this Cheonjiyeon waterfall seemed average. Admission was the same in both waterfalls, 2,000won for adults, and 1,000won for teenagers (up to 24). To see this waterfall, you had to go thru the park, which had other monuments, trees, and flowers to admire...worth checking even in winter.
