I spent 13 hours on a tour to this park as it is considered famous in Taiwan. The tour is quite expensive as I went from Taipei. $200 US pp. 2.5-3 hrs train each way. We walked a trail for 45 min to see the...More

Loved this place and may return and spend more time exploring. Those who disliked walking may not be too keen.

We arrived in Haulien via train & visited the information centre. They offered very little assistance but ushered us to the orange building on the opposite side of the car park. Here we were told to purchase tickets on the bus. Which we attempted and...More

This is very nice and the Gorge is lovely but the weather here can be a problem certainly times if the year. So choose your day wisely and take your own picnic to add to your experience. The train station looks like it's having a...More

Beautiful view up the park. But the bus operated only in the morning and afternoon. So it may be a bit rush if you want to go through all the tourist spots and try one or two trails.

Even if it was cloudy day, I enjoyed my day there! There is a lot to see and food and drinks are quite expensive! So bring yours! Enjoy the views and start it earlier!

A large park with all kinds of hikes and sights. We took the train to the Hualien station and got an 8 hour tour for $3600 NTD from a local taxi driver. Well worth it.

Is a must visit. I read a lot about it, and though it was cloudy, it was beautiful. There were a lot of tour bus, but we were just a bit ahead of them, so, it was not too busy.

Is there public transit from Taroko National Park to Sun Moon Lake? If not, what other transportation options are there? Is driving advisable or taking a taxi perhaps?

It's better to drive or hire local tour guide. If you want to take public transport, you will need to take train to Taipei then Taichung and bus to sun moon Lake. If you can drive of course it will be more flexible as... More
