It's not technically a temple but proper dresses is still require since there are inside shrines and Buddha status. No incenses burning is allowed and no smoking area for the whole... More

Please be mindful about its history and its mission. The place may seem like a religious and touristy spot where lots of beautiful buildings and gardens, even some vegetarian restaurants seem very good and reasonably priced. I noticed there are scriptures all over the Temple grounds that try to build its essence and to teach good. I then started reading... More

The buddha museum at Fo Guang Shan temple is very impressive. Not in the least because of the huge setup of buildings, pagoda's and statues. The museum collection is great with good signage in english.

In the cloudy day, you can walk on the courtyard towards the big Buddha but on the sunny day, you may need to walk in the corridor instead. This place is spacious, the building is as like a mall with museum, restaurants, coffee shop, souvenir shops, Shrines with Chinese Gods. The facilities provided is well maintenance. The big Buddha is... More

We should have allowed for more time here. Recommend a couple hours. The Jade Buddha was impressive. It also holds one of the 3 teeth of Buddha. Other Buddha's were similarly impressive. The level of detail in the rooms was exceptional. Our family was very happy we made to drive.

Tourists will enjoy this huge place with beautiful landscapes, museum & temples for better understanding of Buddhism. All the food sold & served here is vegetarian. The dining hall on the 2nd floor does served simple vegetarian buffet lunch at affordable price.

Must see when you go on a tour in Kaohsiung. The walk may be long but it's worth it - wear really comfy shoes! Bring umbrella and a hat if sunny! There is shade so the walking isn't that bad since the weather is really hot when we went. There were drinking fountains around so it's good to bring a... More

I love this museum. The museum is well kept and the exhibits are all so educational. It has lots of Buddha History. It is the best place I ever visited. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the place was very peaceful. This is the place where you can relax your mind and let go of your worries. I'm thanking our tour... More
