Try to go to the sunday night market. It is different from Kenting's street market. It has more of a local flavour and is plan more for kids. No alcohol is served, which is different then any other market I seen in Taiwan. The more often I go to Hengchun, the more stuff I find.

The small town is quaint and small, but it is nice to see 1800s city walls and gates still standing as you pass through the town on the way to Kenting national park. Not much to see though until you get in the park.

The Hengchun city wall and gate is a relic built about 130 years ago. Other than the outside facade, the inner facade has been repaired with modern bricks. Once can get onto the city wall and walk around for 200 meters. It is best to have an interpretive guide to introduce many little nuances about the wall and gate. There... More

Love the people here and it is a great place to explore. I am very disappointed both with the prices and lack of good restaurants here. I am also shocked at the lack of english menus and signs. Overall it is a nice place but only if you speak Chinese.

If you are in the area for a few days, it is quite interesting to walk the old walls of Hengchun. It's usually quite a peaceful activity with lovely views of the surrounding area. There are parts that are not complete, but that is no barrier. The town is not too big so half a day is enough time to explore.... More

is not that great, but nice enough for an alternative walk around the main town in Kenting. Hengchun is by the way small and pretty friendly, so, even if the old town is not so impressive, hang out there is a nice pleausre.

If you like to roam the old streets and look at interesting little shops then this is the place for you. Lots of little eateries, dessert shops, arts and crafts shops etc. This place has a unique dessert - green bean paste with glutinous balls. Nice and refreshing on a warm day.

There are a lot of restaurants offering a wide range of food including Taiwanese ones along the Main Street between the South and West gate. Most restaurants are closed from 2-5 pm though. Suggest to have lunch there and visit the handy craft stores after. Can spend an afternoon strolling leisurely within the town or visit the Brewery Museum nearby... More

Its only a small town which was shot famous by the Cape No.7 film. It has many nice food around which are only available in HengChun town only! A short stroll around this little town is recommended.

Nice town. Take a walk along with the stone wall before sunset.....very nice. You can also find some street foods with different taste. There is a night market if you just visit this small town on Sunday
