We usually take the stairs to go to the temple which will make us pass some bells along the way. However, we drove up to park nearby the temple this time. There are some parking lots next to the temple. It wasn't much crowded in the morning.

The 30 degree slope mountain may be risky for tour driver. However, the twin golden Phrathat with The northern styled flags (toong = Flag) impress tourist with the legend and here was the King Rama IX's mother pay tribute. The Phrathat Chang Moop (the elephant bend) which on the stone shaped like an elephant has a pagoda with Phrathat

This pagoda is on a hill called "Doi Tung" which is a historical area. The pagoda was believed built almost 2000 years ago just after the death of the Lord Bhudda.

Doi Tung is one of the most famous tourist destination in the region. More than one buildings have been erected in this beautiful garden, and the most beautiful is (of course) the Royal Villa of the King's mother (actually consisting of 4 units). She lived there for many years before her death, and the place is kept perfectly clean and... More

Twin Golden Pagodas are really beautiful, though they are not so big. If you have extra time after visiting Mae Fah Luang Garden and The Royal Villa at Doi Tung, Chiang Rai, then you can enjoy this temple (about 12 Km from the Garden). No entrance fees.

Interesting drive up the mountain to reach this Temple, there are stairs to walk up if you are so inclined. When you reach the top there are many Buddhas to inspect and there is a long bridge which has so many bells attached so that you can ring them along your way. A very peaceful place to visit. The Temple... More

The temple is very beautiful, small and holy. you are able visit the temple by 2 ways. 1) drive your car, drop at Naga staircase and walk to the temple 2) drive your car to the temple directly without stepping up. Please respect this holy temple with appropriate dress, no tank top, no short.

This was at the edge of the town on the top of a hill.We hire a Song Thaew from the town center for 100 bahts for round trip. The Chedi was the same ages as Chiang Rai.It was nothing special compare to Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai.There is a Big Gong in this Chedi.

A moderate walk up to the top of a hill on the edge of the city. Worth the climb due to the views. A nice temple can be found at the top with food available also.
