The palace was built by Lama VI for his lovely wife. The architecture is a bit French and British style with vivid color yellow and babe blue, feel nice and comfy. It locates at the beach, building has 2 floors and with some information about the history. Good place to visit, better to hire a car, scooter or a taxi driver, because... More

As pointed out several times already...the Klai Kang Won Palace is not open to tourists. It is the Hua Hin residence of the Royal family which is located on the seaside along Phetchkasem Road a small distance north of the town center. You can recognize the Klai Kang Won Palace as a beautiful fenced in property with military personnel stationed... More

Apparently the King and Queen of Thailand reside here more so than they do in Bangkok. I was not aware that you could actually go into the compound as there were guards at every gate and stationed every so many feet outside the walls and fencing. But, it looked pretty impressive and large from street view. Grounds looked like they... More

It is not far from Hua Hin if you have a car. We really enjoy our visit there. It is super clean and very peaceful. There are some local students visiting as well. They are very polite and quiet. Love it!

Very good find, the summer palace for the King and his wives, very serene. Under going a bit of work, but the gardens and surroundings are quite superb.

Worth a visit but do not expect to see much. Most of the furniture is removed and place a bit run down.

Be noted that shorts are not allowed. You have to rent a piece of Sarong to wear as a skirt before entering the place. Good for sit in peace or even walk in peace. Take photos along the way. See ancient things in each room.

WRONG REVIEWS & WRONG PHOTOS Almost all of the reviews (and definitely all the photos) for this Tripadvisor listing are about "Mrigadayavan Palace" ... AND NOT "Klai Kang Won Palace". The 2 palaces are located about 25km apart from each other ... one is in Cha-Am and the other is in Hua Hin. You can pay a fee to visit... More
