First time we saw this we were zipping along the 402 towards Phuket. We were intrigued so made a trip to take it in on the way back. The significance of the Burmese invasions to the Thai's was a revelation to me and an great...More

I first saw this monument when visiting in 1992. The minibus stopped for a few minutes and all passengers got to take a nice photograph. It was accessible back then. Now there are 3 lanes of traffic each side, the Thais manage to fit 4...More

you only need to see it once - its usually a traffic nightmare. I would suggest to drive round the roundabout after AM and before PM peak traffic as part of it is closed.

This monument's story is most impressive, though the monument itself is a little underwhelming given the high regard of the women it celebrates. It's actually a large roundabout and is more a landmark than a sightseeing location. Sometimes closed east/west, it's a pretty frustrating exercise...More

What is there to see? It is difficult to stop and see the monument up close. Way too much traffic, impossible to stop.

Heroines Monument is a roundabout, on the main road from the airport toward Phuket town and Patong. There is a good chance you will drive past it on the way to your hotel. While you can run across the road dodging 3 lanes of traffic...More
