We did not visit properly the marina already q was practically deserted and the taxi left us in the square (tourist center) q although not seruoto far, the way is made to go down and the return to go up and with the heat q made it was hard.
However, we enjoy views to the marina and with setting to the beach and to the Ribat (fortress of Monastir)
We took a photo in PhotoPoint I ❤️ MONASTIR!

We wandered in from town by accident, and found a very relaxed little marina.
During Ramadan most of the restaurants were open for lunch, which was a very pleasant surprise.
Afterwards we strolled around looking at the boats, and took a walk out the far side to the peninsula.

Don't be fooled by the pictures. This place is like a nuclear war happened and they are rebuilding the place! There is absolutely nothing there, scruffy buildings falling down and roadworks, you can't even walk about safely. It's a shame as it could be beautiful. We literally spent 15 mins here, then got in a taxi and left again. It's just run down and nothing to do. Go somewhere else!!

Lovely place to walk round or sit by the harbour and have coffee and food. The locals are friendly and the town is spotless. Numerous boat trips for everyone's preference.

The Pirates trip in the Sultan boat was great fun. We were out from 12pm - 5ish, had a BBQ on there, were entertained by the pirate acrobats, belly dancing, singing, dancing, swimming in the sea and fishing. Thoroughly enjoyable trip

We are travelling to Monastir in 3weeks, wondering if we can fish at the marina? Do we need a licence of some kind or permission? Thank you in advance.
