Lovely place to visit - at £2.50 per person, well worth the money. Local elderly gentleman gave us a lovely tour without asking - he knew so much history of the place. A hidden gem.

Loved our visit to Xanthos. Lot's to see and it's just mind blowing when you stop and think about what happened where you are standing. We were lucky enough to visit when it was being excavated by some archaeologists and we spent a long time...More

Well worth a visit - only 10 lira per person to visit and it pretty extraordinary - been to lots of ruins in Italy and Greece and these are pretty amazing by comparison. You could quite happily do a quite whistle-stop tour round them all...More

It’s a beautiful ancient city with surrounding views. I mostly enjoyed seeing the elevated sarcophagus near the theater entrance, that’s unique to Xanthos. Still, Tlos was overall a better site to visit.

This site has a lot of history to it worth reading when you get there - good signage. If you climb above the theatre there is a little plateau which was the acropolis and provides great views up the river and back towards the town....More
