Again nice

Again this is nice and worth visiting but it's not main reason to be in the area. And there's bigger world sites in sightseeing value in my opinion

A wonderful place to visit is The Old Roman Town of Side, Turkey. You will find the Amphitheatre there (a small charge is made for entry), a hospital, traders shops and houses (the ruins of). The ground is a little uneven so I would recommend strong footwear.

It's a pile of stones, in the shape of an amphitheater but that's it. Great to visit but highly overpriced in comparison to the Side Museum nearby. Climb to the top, stagger to the bottom. Very few signs. No guides. Plenty of barriers mean you can't get to the theatre floor or stage. Not planning a second visit.

Side must be an archaeologists dream. This is just one fine example of a town steeped in history. Definitely not to be missed and savoured.

The amphitheater is unusual in that it is freestanding rather than built against the side of a hill. There are larger examples of amphitheatres in the area but the views of the old roman/greek ruins behind it make it that little bit different. Located in the middle of town this is easily accessible on foot allowing you to also see... More

I loved this old Greek theatre. I had never seen one before, and It was so amazing to be able to walk around, investigate for your self, and only us and 5 other people inside while we were there.
