Not really worth visiting. OK for the walk down. Seems to be a favourite place for the local courting couples!!

The castle is free entry and has recently been renovated. The gardens are lovely and it was a surprise to find a whale skeleton in the keep. A good place to take a book and a picnic.

It's open daily, certainly in the summer, and is open until about 8.oopm or later in June, July and August if my memory serves me.

Not sure on the reopening.We visited end of September and did not look likely to be soon. You could walk along the concrete path to it but that was it. With regards to cost when I originally looked at location for a holiday... More

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the port to the castle. You can see the castle from the port.
