Arrived by cruise ship in Kusadasi and took a guided tour to Ephesus and Selcuk. It could have been done less expensively, but for us, the importance of seeing and understanding everything was more important than saving $20. It's unlikely we'll be back this way, and the disappointment of missing a venue would be a sour taste. This is THE... More

Very interesting historical site a bit disappointed that a lot of what you see has been re-erected - particularly the old library which is the main feature of the site. Lots of concrete holding stuff up.

Folks, no matter what they tell you, you don't need anyone robbing you of 45 euros/dollars per person for this trip! :) We rented out a car (for around 33 euros/day) and 20 kms away of Kusadasi, you bypass the small town of Selcuk then you find Ephesus. If you want to skip queuing and should that machine selling tickets... More

Kusadasi (Ephesus) Turkey Ephesus is a must stop if visiting Turkey. It is one of “the” most magnificent preserved historical sites I have visited. When touring Ephesus I would recommend a private tour guide. We hired the guide from “Private Tour Istanbul” since we had such good luck with your Istanbul guide. The guide spoke good English and very knowledgeable... More

To reach Ephesus, one has to fly in to Adnan Menderes Airport, Izmir, Turkey and then it is a 1 hour ride to the hotels in the city of Kusadasi where people normally tend to stay. One can opt to stay near the airport, which then makes it a very long journey when you want to visit Ephesus or Pamukkale.... More

In all my travels, I have never been to such a crowded place. I understand it is like this a lot, but since we were with a tour, we didn't get to choose a time ourselves that may have been less crowded. It takes a long time to walk just a few steps since it had so many groups that... More

This is much like many of the ancient ruins located throughout Europe-but it is still a fascinating experience to wander through. Lots of photo opportunities! It is crowded-stay close to your party or risk losing track of them. There will be lots of vendors at the exit who will want to peddle cheap wares to you.

Its a MUST place to go if you are into history of the ancient world... Just standing there and feeling the antique vibes it has, closing your eyes and picturing how daily life would have been 2000 years ago.. Its AMAZING!!!

Trying to imagine what it was like in ancient Ephesus becomes easier when you walk through the remains of the city, sit in the stadium, and stand in the latrine. It's all there and amazing. A must see but not quickly, take your time.

Went on this trip thinking it would be an okay day trip (just like the holiday in general up to this point) but we were really pleasantly surprised. Ephesus blew me a way and was by far the highlight of the trip and a must see. The tour guide named Ali was excellent and a a font of information on... More
