One of the top attractions in the region, this outdoor museum contains the remains of many churches carved into the famous Cappadocia stone. Of note are the many excellent frescoes that can be seen when exploring the various structures.

It is special but once you seen one cave it's not much new in the others. Wouldn't be without it though.

A tour around Cappadocia can't be completed without visiting Goreme open air museum. A guided tour is strongly advised, to learn more about the frescoes on the walls of the churches in and outside the museum, that are carved into stones. Those on budget might...More

The Goreme Open Air Museum or as they call it Goreme Acikhava Muzesi is a collection of churches etc which were built in the sand-rocks of Goreme a few centuries ago and still stands to its magnificence. I won't recommend a guided tour for that,...More

This open air museum is a gem of Capadoccia. Great Christian remains from several centuries in form of churches, monasteries and nunneries excavated in the beautiful Capadoccian rock formations and with a lot of unique frescos. I can recommended it enough. Fantastic

Visited this place two days ago, I was impressed! Well managed site. Beautiful churches and a nice walk around. Nice place to have a Turkish coffee and take a break. Open air is a nice concept and absolutely loved the experience! Highly recommended.

Lots of dryness and dust surrounding. (The...More

No, not in the centre of town but a pleasant walk of about 10 minutes. Wonderful place to walk around and worth paying a little extra to see the Dark Church. A very beautiful place and do not miss it
