Wines were tasty and reasonably priced. I would go there to buy wines but the tasting was not an experience. The server gave us tastes of the wines in the same paper cup, he didn't tell us anything about the wines. We were in and out in 10minutes. Certainly not a wine tasting experience but if you want to buy some wines definately pop in.

I visited the wine cellars near Goreme yesterday. Unfortunately it has left a bad taste in my mouth.
As a wine student who has been to over 50 wineries in 10 different countries around the world I must admit this is the worst treatment I have received.
After telling me some information about the wine I asked the staff member whether whether we could taste some wine, i tried two wines (10ml samples) which I thought were delicious.
Upon asking the staff member the pricing of a bottle of Ezmir (because we were unable to try the wine). The staff member told me it was 40 lira and then said "it was cheaper to buy from the winery than the shops in Goreme. The price in Goreme is almost double what you pay in the winery".
This is not true we went to several supermarkets in Goreme last night and all bottles were priced at 25 lira.
If wine was 100 lira I would have been happy to pay that price. Additionally if the staff member had told me that we should buy direct from the winery even though it may be cheaper in other shops, because it is better for the winery, I would be happy to pay the extra. Instead they lied!
Avoid buying anything from the wine cellar, it is clearly a tourist trap instead buy from the local supermarket or try another winery!

I love wine and was hoping to try a couple of their wines, especially the one made exclusively with Kaleci Karasi. I visited the winery hoping to be able to have a look at the place where they keep the wine, since it's made of stone and i find that interesting. On arrival I was offered a white wine which initially I wasn't interested in, but turned out to be the best wine. Then the guy behind the counter motioned to pour a red wine in the glass I just used for the white wine. Now, I don't know if he's just fed up of people coming to his winery to drink wine for free, which I doubt because he only offered these 2 different wines, or he really doesn't give a damn about his own wine that he can just mix them in the same glass. To me this is shocking as we don't even do this at home at lunch. Least he could do is to wipe the glass clean with a tissue.
He refused to let me try the Kaleci Karasi wine and when I asked him the price it was 10 lira more expensive than in shops I had visited before.
He also refused to show me the cellar.
Overall, a disappointing experience I wouldn't reccommend to anyone.

Absolutely loved the wine by Kocabag. It is a very pretty little wine store. I recommend it to any one and every one visiting Cappadoccia. In fact, Kocabag wine is served at practically every restaurant even in Istanbul, and you get it there for less than half the price.

This is a small nicely decorated winery with a great selection of organic local wines. As opposed to your standard commercial wineries you are actually greeted and tended by people who know their stuff very well. In our case it was the son of the owner who patiently explained us all the intricacies of local wine making including its history, climate, methods, current political economy and all. They are also very generous with their taste offerings and reasonable with their prices. Very highly recommended.

The wines are very good for a reasonable price, you can taste them, but do not expect a real wine tasting. You have to stand at the bar, the give you a sip of each wine (5-6 types), but without any explanation. They do not speak english either and you don’t feel the turkish hospitality here at all. After visiting some other places in Turkey it is a very disappointing experience.

As being a resident of cappadocia we have tried almost all local wines of the region. Kocabag is one of the best so far. The quality taste and strength of the wine is perfect. We bought a bottle of Uchisar wine for 25 lira which was 35 lira in a market. The owner is also very gentle. The only thing is they can serve more kinds to taste.

This simple tasting room in Uchisar is not touristy. Please do not let their perfect location across from the entrance to Pigeon Valley deter you!
The business offers tons of local wines to try (and, yes, the workers ensure you try everything!). Each bottle of wine is roughly 30TL (or about 14USD) and they are a great way to promote the wine industry in Turkey.
Our favorite selection includes the Emir/Narince white wine blend. It's buttery like a chardonnay yet sharp like a Pinot Grigio. Truly interesting flavor!
The only down side is that the workers don't really speak English, so you might not get your questions answered. However, in this area there is almost always an impromptu translator there if need be.
You will not regret stopping in here to purchase some wine for your hotel room later that night. The prices are less and the quality is better!
