About
Also known as the Pamukkale Antique Pool, this natural wonder and UNESCO World Heritage site is located in the ancient city of Hierapolis. The warm mineral-rich “champagne water” that fills the pool sits just under 100°F and is believed to have therapeutic healing properties. Pay a fee on top of the price of admission and swim between ancient columns amongst the marble ruins. Visit in the mornings for fewer crowds, or cap off your day with a soak in the evening. There are change rooms, lockers to store your gear, and hotels in the area if you want to stay the night. – Tripadvisor

Warm water - deep bit best
Really warm water. Relaxing and fun to swim past ruins. Much better to do than have a dip in the terraces. Amenities decent - food/drink/souvenirs. Very busy and people stand on edge taking photos which is odd! Lockers felt easily breakable - leave valuables at home! Good value - pay on door not with your guide.

    Cleopatra scenic pool for photos
Cleopatra Pool was a short walk from the Hierapolis Museum. This attraction has changing rooms and cafeteria near the pool. Admission to Cleopatra Pool was 300 TKL. Water was warm. Most visitors just leaned against the walls and have water pouring out on them. Though one has to be concerned with how clean the water really is. Another traveler relayed that some pool visitors have gotten sick afterwards.

    Worth the visit and experience
Worth the visit and experience. It was everything we expected from reading other reviews. Entry to swim was very reasonable at 200 Lira, one should take note though that an additional 20 Lira key deposit is needed for the lockers.

    Great visit to cleopatra pool
It is definitely worth the visit. Some pointers: Park at South Gate - Price for parking is 50TL You need to have cash! The entrance to the entire complex is 30 Euros. They do accept credit cards for this fee. Once inside you walk about 15 minutes to the pool - Antique pool. At the pool another 200 TL but they do accept credit cards. Went with family at 5pm and then walked along the travertine pools afterwards.

Average experience and beware of day trip guides trying to rip you off
Average experience if you don’t mind lazing in a pool with some algae floating around. The staff try to scoop out the algae but not possible to retrieve the green stuff from the middle of the pool. Bring a pair of goggles so that u can explore the sunken columns and stones at the bottom of the pool. Beware of tour guides trying to rip you off for the entrance feel and locker fees. Our tour guide says it costs 11 euros for entry and 3 euros for locker per person. When we arrive at the ticket booth, it was shown the tickets cost only 340TL and 5 TL respectively.

    Doesnt look like the photos
Located in an incredible spot and with so much history, but not really worth the price. The pools dont look much like what you see in pictures and are incredibly crowded during the peak season. The water was not the cleanest so the underwater ruins were not visible.

So I read a lot of the reviews on here and was skeptical that i would enjoy it but I have to say it was great. You can walk in and see the pools before deciding to pay to get in them so you can judge the amount of people. You are allowed to bring cameras/GoPro into the water. Granted we went during pandemic times, there were only a few other people in the pool and it was a really nice temperature to relax.

Expensive,dirty,unsafe.
It now costs 200 Lisa's to enter this small pool, about double what it was 1 year ago. You are paying to experience bathing around 100s of other people, kids(who pee there..). Slime is floating and not cleaned up. Slimy, slippery columns in the water. 1000s of other tourists are looking at you as you bath.Note how I did not say swim as you can't even make a step without bumping into someone else. 50 million people visit it yearly to give you an idea how crowded- the most popular destination for locals and tourists. Due to the 100% inflation in Turkey in the last 6 month alone all prices in restaurants and attractions are 2-4x more expensi6,yet you are not getting the value any longer

There is an additional entrance fee for the pool, now an exorbitant 100tl per person to swim. You can get in and view the pool for free but I suppose the attraction is swimming in a thermal pools of 36c used since Roman times and actually swimming amongst the fallen pillars of that era. It is not deep in parts, you can use stones to move about but some swimming is definitely helpful. there was only just about enough room in these Coronavirus days, I don't know what they do to control numbers in normal times when it would be significantly busier.

Our journey in Alanya commenced on the 4th of July, allowing us a splendid two days to soak in the local attractions and ambiance of this beautiful coastal town. While our initial days were about self-exploration, the 5th brought about a fun encounter with our agent from the JoinUp Travel agency. The language barrier (he didn’t speak English) added a dash of humor to our day. But as they say, smiles are universal, and that's exactly how we proceeded!

Further into the day, we stumbled upon a gem for our Lithuanian readers - the travel agency named Atostogos Turkijoje Ekskursijos su Vyteniu. Conducting tours in Lithuanian, it felt like a slice of home in a foreign land.

Our excitement peaked on the 6th of July when we booked a journey to Pamukkale's renowned thermal pools and the enchanting Salda Lake. For 65 EUR per person, we were promised an adventure, and the agency did not disappoint! A notable exception was the Kleopatra Pool in Hieropolis, which wasn't included in our package.

The early risers that we are, a 2 a.m. pickup on the 5th didn't faze us, especially with the promise of reaching Pamukkale before the sweltering crowds. Our 6-hour journey to the thermal pools, interspersed with a delightful breakfast stop, culminated in the mesmerizing sight of Pamukkale.

Natural pools on travertines are much nicer. Here guys tried to make it more "antique" adding just pieces of styled pillars and statues on the bottom. Nothing special, especially if you are unlucky to appear here during crowded hours.

Last July, we couldn’t get into the pool in that heat and it was in my mind. Swimming in the 36-degree pool was a wonderful experience in October, with some wind biting out. We ⁇ the pool for 2.5 hours. Because of the ancient stones in the pool alone, you can’t throw or swim right, and your foot hits large stones and burns as you walk. Even when you go somewhere at a depth of 3m, the stones still have to be taken care of, so you could hit your head if you go for a dip or something. It can be nice to venture in and see the bottom of the water with a sea glass. We couldn’t think about it. In the meantime, of course, there are rocks at the bottom and it’s covered with moss, so the moss can rise above the water. It doesn’t look nice in the image either, but there’s nothing to do.
As for admission, my wife and I paid 130 lira as we had museum cards. My son had a student museum card and they paid £340 for admission. I think these numbers are pretty affordable. I get a 210 discount because I have a museum card for £60, and a 340 discount for a student museum card for £30. If so, add the difference or 60 lira to 130 a. Getting £340 from a student means to be a straight man. Nobody's sorry. If we see tourist treatment in our home country, there’s a problem here.

We went in May and it was really relaxing to get into the pool, but it was incredibly difficult to enter the place where there was only one cash register. After waiting in a very long queue, when we were finally going to pay, we learned that the discount for the student card was invalid. We tried to get a card again. Since we got our card online, we opened a QR code from the e-government, but they did not accept e-government. After all these procedures, we learned that we downloaded the museum application again and created a registration. We spent 45 minutes on all these processes, and the lady on duty at the reception was very nervous and rude, never wanting to help. We had read the information for the entrance before entering and it was not written there, the information was really very little and it does not suit such an important touristic place. It was very nice to swim in the pool, but there is also a problem with cleaning there, the edges of the pool need to be cleaned.

We loved this place. I was there 35 years ago, and decided to return this summer. The pool is as lovely as ever (be careful not to scrape your skin on the hidden ruins under the water!) and the water temperature just perfect, but the bonus is that the changing facilites are so much improved. There is nice food and drink at very realistic prices, quickly served when we were there. The pool wasn't too full of people in mid September, but I suspect it's probably best to avoid high summer.
So pleased that it lived up to my expectations.
The only downside is a bit of green algae floating around (this is a natural spring-water pool). An attendant was fishing bits out occasionally, but maybe this needs more attention.
