We can only enjoyed the view from outside because the renovation is still going on from months ago. The mosque can't be skipped easily as it is grande and huge. Not to feel disappointed, just walk few meters and you can find smaller armenian church St. Bedros.

What happened in 1915 is history and only a honest and open minded approach will heal the wounds (at both sides). When you visit the building nowadays the only history that is mentioned is the fact that it is a mosk! Not one word about the fact that this has been the main church (cathedral) of the Armenian population of... More

After 15 mins or so admiring the exterior, a man appeared and opened the door for us, then he disappeared. The building is in need of repair... More

It used to be a church ,later converted into a prison. Today , it is a place for worship for Muslims,a mosque .However ,when you look at the building you can easily notice the traces of a church.

This is a turn of the century Armenian Apostolic Church that was turned into a mosque in the 1980s. There are no Christian symbols left in the church except you can see the shadow of a cross on the front and back pediment. And of course, the church itself is shaped like a cross. The interior is beautiful. As in... More

Built in 1892 as an Armenian Church, dedicated to St. Mary, the complex has turned into a mosques after staying empty for years following the departure of the Armenian congregation. The gothic style building is located just outskirts of historic Gaziantep neighbourhood within walking distance if you stroll in the old city. Although the complex looks in need for a... More
