The museum displays artefacts from various periods in human history. The artefacts are well displayed and descriptions are informative. At the entrance we received a very informative leaflet describing the history and periods on display in the museum - in English. If you have visited Catal Hoyuk you will appreciate all the objects from the site on did[play here. Do... More

If you are interested in archaeology visit this museum. Although it is very small one the pieces that are on show are the good examples. But I must say that this museum needs to to be carried to a new and bigger building in order to show the valuable pieces.

This is a small museum but the 3rd century CE Roman sarcophagus with carvings showing the labours of Hercules is the jewel in the crown. Well worth a visit. Also has some artefacts from Catalhoyuk but having visited the site itself I felt these this aspect to be poorly curated.

This museum is a bit old and small, but I wanted to see the famous sarcophagus of Roman era. Very glad to take photos of them! There were not many visitors so I was able to see quietly. As I can speak Turkish, the staff showed me around the museum and explained the brief history of Konya, too. There is... More

This museum has some fantastic Sarcophagi, however the rest of the museum is not that spectacular. The building is also pretty old and the displays a little dated. There are plans to move the collection to a new (to be built) building, in the near future.

It was really hard to find the place and not too many people spoke English but we finally found it in an obscure, very unassuming neighborhood. Despite the heat and the walk from the old town it was worth the visit. It is set in a small building with a partially vine covered garden. They have remarkable pieces of Roman... More
