The castle boasts a very good view of the city and is a pleasant walk up. The one face boasts ancient cuneiform writings . Best to visit early mornings when it is not too hot.

As i stated above, if your current stop is Van at this time of the year, you should definitely visit Van Castle. Because the climate is harsh, people in Van hardly find an appropriate time and condition to enjoy the weather and the city's natural...More

The dolmus from Van Centre stops by the children's playground. You need to walk about 1km further along the road (keeping the castle to your left) to find the entrance and pay the 5TL fee. The steep climb is worth it, as only at the...More

Totally worth the visit on a beautiful day you have 360° fantastic views of the lake and the city. We walked the 6km from city center but you can easily take a dolmus (towards Kale) for 1,5 TRY. Don't miss it!

I would recommend Alkan Tours. We did a tour last year with a lovely driver called Murat. There are also minibuses to these sights.

We visited Van in May and the advice to rather get a bus from Tatvan to Van is very good. There are many good and reliable bus companies operating from Tatvan and it will be no problem to get a bus. Have a good trip.
