Really liked going to this place, even though it is relatively a small place there was a lot to learn from the people here. I had a person translating to English form me, found this place very rich with history, culture and learn a lot from my visit here. Definitely a nice stopping point while walking around Poltava to learn more about the people, history and people here.

It’s nice and close to the rest of Poltava tourist attractions. It does have Enter fee but not much about 10, it does not take long but if you have not been or seen a traditional Ukrainian house I would recommend this.

To do this attraction justice you need to take your time listening to the guide headphones that are available in English. Some of the rooms are laid out as they were when Kotltareveskiy lived there. It is best seen as single viewer or a maximum group of four so you don't over crowd it.

An old type of Ukranian house on the place where used to live Ukranian writer Kotlyarevskiy. There is a possibility to get inside of the house to see the interior and also to walk around house on the territory full of flowers.

It`s a replica of the house, where pioneer of modern Ukrainian literature - Ivan Kotliarevsky - lived almost all his life (it was his father`s house and since he never married - he chose to live in this modernized to his needs building).
The house looks like traditional Ukrainian house from outside, but inside it`s rather urban dwelling from the beginning of 19 century`s Poltava.
The museum is rather small, but I highly recommend to take the tour - everything is flashed out with proper information.

This is such a beautiful place where several students were sitting around sketching and writing, as this was the home of one of the Ukraine;s most famous writers! The setting is peaceful, serene and beautiful! Enjoyed the gardens.

I enjoyed my tour of this house, having an interpreter was essential to understanding what I was seeing.

Visited there again and again from Oct 2013, Aug, Oct, Dec 2016, it's really a beautiful small village, very similar to that on Sun Island Russian town in my native city of Harbin, China!!!!))) This little cottage house reminds me of the Russian country in which farmers and workers live in there for life! In the summer, I can find the red fruits(yagod) from the trees at the entrance, very warm and beautiful when you take photos there) Then in the winter...everywhere's snow, the snow covered cottage sounds like a great place to live in with Ivan)

The grey cat welcomed us laying down on the entrence - that was cute. House was really nice and atmospheric. It was interesting to find out how the great Ukrainian writer lived.
