While it may seem like just another old fort on the outside, look past the seemingly normality of it and put the original structure in perspective of the era. Ensure you watch the movie in the reception center about the renovation of the fort and...More

We went here after visiting Qasr Al Muwaijie. It only takes 10 minutes between the 2 locations so you should definitely pass by. The place is also beautifully well kept and the exhibition of Wilfred Thesiger's travels in particular is stunning. Staff are also very...More

The fort itself is really just walls and some interesting towers. What made it special for me was the wonderful photo exhibition of Wilfred Thesiger that s currently going on.

I visited the fort in the middle of the day when it was pretty hot and empty of people. We weren't allowed to go inside to see the exhibition with a stroller so that made our trip short. It was nice to walk around the...More

This fort was being readied for a concert so one had to bear that in mind when viewing it internally. I came first at sunset and it was well worth just walking around the exterior. The next day I visited again and concentrated on the...More

Good place in combination with Oasis and Palace Museum to understand the history of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Really good photography exhibition on the travels of Wilfred Thesiger.

We went in February and virtually had the place to ourselves. It was very interesting and would recommend. Closed on Mondays.

Al Jahili Fort is located in Al Ain which is at least one and a half hours to the closest water. I am not sure which ferry or bungalow that you are referring to but they are not close to this fort. Thanks...
